Today marks the anniversary of Star Trek, released on May 8, 2009. I have been to a few of the film locations over the years. These photos were before I got really particular about being screen-matched, but you still get the idea of the location….
A lot of Vulcan scenes were shot at the Skyrose Chapel, located at 3888 Workman Mill Road in Whittier, California
This church was also used in HBO’s True Blood.
Starfleet Academy was shot at California State Univeristy located at 18111 Nordhoff Street in Northridge.
An often filmed spot, especially for Star Trek is the Vasquez Rocks located at 10700 W. Escondido Canyon Road in Agua Dulce.
I was lucky to meet Chris Pine shortly before he was cast as Kirk.
The late Anton Yelchin.
Director JJ Abrams at Comic Con in 2008.
Some wardrobe and props on display at Paramount Studios.
