Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story (2024)

The second in Ryan Murphy’s “Monster” series focuses on the Menendez family. While not as dark or compelling as the first series, Dahmer, I felt this was a worthy sophomore effort. Of course, it doesn’t hurt it is such a LA-centric story! Below are the majority of the locations for the show.

The limo is driving on the 700 North Beverly Drive block in Beverly Hills.

The funeral was shot at the DGA building at 7920 Sunset Boulevard.

These houses are at 455 and 343 South WIndsor Boulevard.

The Menendez house was shot at 113 Fremont Place. Unfortunately this is in a gated neighborhood, so I wasn’t able to visit, but provided some photos found on the internet below.

The real house is at 722 Elm Drive in Beverly Hills. The first picture is from many years ago, the second one earlier this year where the owners put up some temporary privacy fences.

This scene was shot at the Will Rogers Memorial Park at 800 North Canon Drive in Beverly Hills. This park was also used in Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles and frequented by George Michael….

The movie theater was located at 14424 Milbank Street in Sherman Oaks. I was pleasantly surprised they have not changed the marquee since filming.

Their doctor makes a call at a phone booth put up in front of 427 North Camden Drive in Beverly Hills.

He is supposedly driving on Elm Drive to Elevado Street, as evidenced on the prop street sign. However in reality he is on South Windsor Boulevard driving towards 5th Street.

The doctor’s office was at 415 North Camden Drive in Beverly Hills. The inside had some significant renovation since filming.

The exterior looks about the same since production.

The Live Video building was shot at 20525 Nordhoff Street in Chatsworth.

The Bel Air Hotel is at 701 Stone Canyon Road. (I did not visit this location, but used a Google Streetview shot)

Back again on the 700 North Beverly Drive block in Beverly Hills.

The famous Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills…

The auto dealership is at 5070 Wilshire Boulevard.

This house is at 211 South Muirfield Road.

Zsa Zsa is pulled over in front of 234 South Muirfield Road.

The church scenes were shot at 1757 North Lake Avenue. (The first pic is one I found online as I wasn’t able to visit, the second pic is a previous location visit.)

This scene appeared to be shot at the Ritz-Calrton in Marina del Rey.

This shot was at the Beverly Hills Civic Center.

This was shot at Whiskey Red’s at 13813 Fiji Way in Marina Del Rey. (I wasn’t able to visit this location yet, so shots taken from Google.)

This was shot at one of the storefronts on the 5600 block of Hollywood Boulevard as you can see Precise Auto Body across the street in reverse shots.

The airport scenes appear to be shot at the LA Convention Center. I haven’t visited this spot lately, so put an older pic here for references.

The Cristophe store was shot at 202 North Yale Avenue in Claremont. (I wasn’t able to make it out there on my last visit, so Google picture for now.)

The West Hollywood restaurant appears to be shot at 8221 Sunset Boulevard; below is a quick driveby shot of the exterior.

I didn’t think I would be able to find Leslie’s house as there was not house numbers or any apparent clues, but I recognize a previous location at the end of the block and was able to track it down. It is locate at 18036 Lake Encino Drive in Encino.

I have been to this location a couple times already so immediately recognized it; located at 21701 Erwin Street in Woodland Hills.

The Chateau Marmont on Sunset Boulevard….

Not in my favorite part of town, so did not visit this location, but this scene was shot at the Bamboo Inn at 2005 West 7th Street. (Pictures taken from Google.)

I “thought” I knew where this was, but when I got there nothing would match up. After looking across the bay, I found the right spot. This is by the Cabrillo Beach Yacht Club at 211 W 22nd Street in San Pedro.

The college scenes were shot at Pomona College at 333 North College Way in Claremont.

This was shot at the Hollywood American Legion at 2035 Highland Avenue.

I wasn’t able to visit this spot, but found it at Bridges Hall at Pomona College.

Back at the Woodland Hills location….

The Century Plaza at 2025 Avenue of the Stars.

This was shot at Mountain View Cemetery at 2400 North Fair Oaks Avenue in Altadena.
