While I'm certainly not a fan of most remakes, I was willing to give the Poltergeist reboot a chance. Unfortunately, it failed to deliver on many counts. But, for completest sake and the fact I was visiting Toronto, I thought I would visit the house used in the film. I did kind of like the title reveal though....

The neighborhood is located in Hamilton, Ontario. In this first scene, the family is driving on Hawkswood Trail toward the intersection at Eagleglen Way.

The next shots show the houses at 70 and 74 Hawkswood Trail. (I've been messing with different filters and lens flares to recreate some shots in the films.)

The family continues to drive on Hawkswood Trail and then turns on to Kittyhawk Drive.

They continue down the street and we finally arrive at the primary location. The house is located at 1295 Upper Paradise Road. The house itself is relatively the same, however the production did add a few more windows and skylight. Unsurprisingly, the tree was fake and the fence was moved to be right next to the sidewalk in between the houses.

As we are essentially at this same location for the rest of the movie, I've divided the matching screenshots into a few scenes. Here we have moving day.

In this scene, Sam Rockwell leaves the family to do some shopping.

For those curious, the shot of the mall through the mirror is all the way back in Valencia, California. I've included the shot as it appears in the movie looking through the mirror as well as the way it appears in real life. UPDATE: The mall is at 24201 West Valencia Boulevard. This was shot on Town Center Drive looking back to the food court area.

Returning from the store, Sam Rockwell arrives back at the house at dusk.

I couldn't replicate the sunset shots during the bright sunny day of my visit, but these shots are looking down the street from the house.

In one of the few inspired moments of creativity, Griffin flies his drone in the field behind the house.

Conveniently, the drone drops right in front of the taxi dropping off Carrigan Burke.

We'll skip right to the end as the family tries to flee the house....

One of my favorite shots is the POV of the kids looking back at the house disintegrating into the sky.

For the coda scene, the family takes a look at house for sale. This one took me a while to track down, but I found it at 89 Inglewood in Mississauga, Ontario.
