House On Haunted Hill (1999)

The remake of House on Haunted Hill came near the end of the post-Scream horror revival. It was a pretty decent flick at the time and retained the basics from the original film.

Most of the movie was shot on sets, but a few real locations for used, mostly the exterior of the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles. The building has had some major renovations since filming.

Not sure if this is the exact windy road, but they did shoot them arriving near the observatory.

A few spots from the back of the observatory are still recognizable.

The stairs were altered and a handicap ramp was put in as part of the renovations since filming.

Debi Mazar’s scenes were deleted from the film, but she was originally going to appear in the film’s epilogue.
