Scream VI

Scream VI (2023)

While I was not a particular fan of Scream 5, I did enjoy most of Scream VI, although it did go off the rails at the end and some characters are more superhuman than those in the Marvel multiverse. Once again, Canada stands in for New York City except for a few establishing shots. Mostly filmed in Montreal, I tracked down most of the locations used in the film. I haven’t been to Montreal in several years, so just Google Streetview shots for reference for the time being…

The bar in the opening scene is located at 368 R. Notre Dame O in Montreal, Quebec.

The alley is right across the way on Dollard Street.

Jason’s apartment is located at 3540 Rue Durocher in Montreal.

The exterior or Sam and Tara’s apartment is at 251 Rue Milton in Montreal, although the courtyard was shot elsewhere.

Tara is attacked in front of 3412 Av Harvard in Montreal.

They run around the corner to the bodega at 5701 Rue Sherbrooke O in Montreal.

The police station exterior is located at 810 Rue St-Hubert in Montreal.

Dr. Stone’s house was a bit trickier to track down, but it is at 419 Rue Prince Arthur O in Montreal.

Blackmore University was filmed at McGill University at 845 Rue Sherbrooke O in Montreal. (The opening scene of Happy Birthday To Me was shot at this university four decades earlier!)

The courtyard scenes were shot at 3567 Rue Durocher in Montreal.

The interiors of the theatre were shot at Le National at 1220 Rue Sainte-Catherine E in Montreal. These reference pictures are on their Facebook page.

What I assume is supposed to be Central Park is actually Parc La Fontaine at 3819 Av. Calixa-Lavallée in Montreal. The scene ends near the Monument à sir Louis-Hippolyte La Fontaine on the southwest corner of the park.

For Gale’s apartment, I used the church across the street for reference, Saint Patrick’s Basilica. She appears to live in the penthouse at 456 Rue De La Gauchetière O in Montreal.

And finally the theatre exterior was shot at the Empress Theatre at 5550 Sherbrooke Street W in Montreal.

UPDATE: One missing location that was really bugging me was the theatre “alley” seen midway throughthe film and then at the end. I finally found it on Rue de Boisbriand near the corner of Rue Saint-Dominique in Montreal. Obviously they used CGI to build out a “New York” landscape above the buildings.
