Happy anniversary to Peggy Sue Got Married, released on this day in 1986. Several years ago I visited a few of the locations while traveling.
Peggy Sue’s school is Santa Rosa High School. This was supposed to be the school for Scream, until they read the script. It is located at 1235 Mendocino Avenue in Santa Rosa, California.
The downtown scenes were shot near the corner of Western Avenue and Petaluma Boulevard in Petaluma, California. This town was was also used in Explorers.
Peggy’s house is located at 226 Liberty Street in Petaluma, California. I could hear the theme song in my head as I walked up the steps. :)
“You bought an Edsel.”
The Donut Hole Cafe was located at 600 Petaluma Boulevard South in Petaluma.
The Carithers Building was at the corner of Western Avenue and Kentucky Street in Petaluma.
This store was at the corner of Western Avenue and Petaluma Boulevard.
Unfortunately Charlie’s house is long gone, but it was located at 1006 D Street in Petaluma. The surrounding houses are all the same though.
I am not 100% sure, but I feel like Peggy’s grandaparents’ house is also the same location used in Cujo.
Grandpa tries to send Peggy back to the future at the DeTurk Round Barn, located at 819 Donahue Street in Santa Rosa.
