Today marks the anniversary of Cruel Intentions, released March 5, 1999. One of the many adaptations of Les Liaisons Dangereuses, I thought this was a pretty good one and was a big success. I was also a fan of Dangerous Liaisons (1988) so was happy to see Swoosie Kurtz in a small role as she played Madame de Volanges in that film.
Shot mostly on the east coast, they did a few locations in California.
The pool scene was shot at the Biltmore Hotel at 506 South Grand Avenue in Los Angeles.
One of the final scenes was shot at All Saints Episcopal Church at 132 North Euclid Avenue in Pasadena, California.
Many films have used this church including Legally Blonde and The Changeling.
