PSYCHO III celebrates its anniversary today, originally released on July 2, 1986. This was my first PSYCHO film I saw in the theatre and was amazing to see the Bates house on the big screen.
I have more pics coming, but first is the desert scenes, shot in the Palmdale area.
As most of you know, the Bates Motel and house are at Universal Studios in Los Angeles.

Below are a few shots during my Universal Studios visit in 1985. As you can see, they were just getting ready to film PSYCHO III.
One scene the did not shoot on the backlot is where Jeff Fahey walks into the bar. Here is is crossing the street at Kersting Court in Sierra Madre. He goes into 26 North Baldwin Avenue. This street has been used many times including Halloween II, Halloween III, The Fog, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Return of the Living Dead Part 2, and Silent Night Deadly Night Part 2.
After years of searching, I was finally able to track down and visit Mrs. Spool’s apartment. It is located at 11465 Albers Street in North Hollywood, California.
