Today marks the anniversary for The Naked Gun, released December 2, 1988. I was a fan of the original Police Squad! television show, although it was very short-lived, so I was excited for the movie. It did surprisingly well and spawned two sequels. Below are a few of the locations I’ve visited over the years….
The Beirut location is actually Brand Park at 1601 West Mountain Street in Glendale, California. (My pictures were taken many years ago, so I should go back as there is no longer construction fences around it!)
The police station was at 1201 West 2nd Street in Los Angeles.
Jane’s apartment is at 1730 North Gramercy Place in Los Angeles.
Everything reminds me of Jane… this is off the I-5 San Diego Freeway at the San Onofre Nuclear Power Plant (5000 Old Pacific Highway in Pendleton, California).
This scene was shot looking towards the intersection of South Santa Fe Avenue and Willow Street near Downtown Los Angeles.
This was under the now-demolished Sixth Street bridge outside of Downtown Los Angeles.
This scene was shot on the 200 block of South Hewitt Street towards the corner at East 3rd Street in Los Angeles.
Here Frank walks past the motel at 5601 Hollywood Boulevard.
The Ludwig Towers was shot at Park Plaza at 607 South Park View Street in Los Angeles.
