Today marks the 20th anniversary for the release of GACY. Last year I tracked down and visited a few of the locations for the film.
Gacy turns the corner from 4th Place in front of this building at 351 South Hewitt in Los Angeles.
Here he picks up a guy at 326 South Hewitt Street.
Later this guy is dropped off in the same place.
The gate has a new paint job but is still the same!
Next up, the guys are taking a “smoke break” in front of….
… the liquor store at 3061 Lincoln Avenue in Altadena, California. This was also recently used in Dahmer
Not much changed in two decades in this reverse shot.
This spot was also used behind the liquor store, but has been renovated over.
The gas station was across the street, but has been replaced by a building.
They pick up some food at 3029 Lincoln Avenue in Altadena. This is right next to the liquor mart.
In the same shopping center, looking down to the alley.
And here is the reverse shot.
This scene was shot at the Los Angeles National Cemetery at 950 S Sepulveda Boulevard.
The house was a bit trickier to find, but I tracked it down to 3338 Canyon Crest Road in Altadena.
The house is just a few blocks north of the liquor mart.
Creepy shot in the movie!
Tommy hears something funny going on…
A few random shots of the house….
The girlfriend confronts her boyfriend…
There has been landscaping added, so some long shots are difficult to get.
I briefly talked to the owner of the house who granted me permission for these photos, thanks!
Adam Baldwin has a brief cameo as John Gacy Sr.
