Today marks the anniversary for Alexander Payne’s Election, released May 7, 1999. At the time of filming, I just lived a couple miles away from the locations, but never bothered to go watch them film. These pictures were taken several years ago, but just now getting around to posting them.
The school scenes were shot at Papillion-LaVista High School, located at 402 E Centennial Road in Papillion, Nebraska.
This scene was shot near the corner of 50th Street and Underwood Avenue in Omaha, Nebraska.
Godfather’s Pizza is still there at 7920 South 84th Street in La Vista, Nebraska.
Linda’s house is at 683 Parkwood Lane in Omaha, Nebraska.
Lisa’s house is at 1006 North 64th Street in Omaha, Nebraska.
The motel is at 1110 Fort Crook Road South in Bellevue, Nebraska.
Matthew Broderick’s house is at 5011 Cass Street in Omaha, Nebraska. I was at this house for a meeting once and noticed a picture of Matthew Broderick with her on the mantle. She said, oh yeah, this was his house in Election, I had no idea at the time!
Not completely sure, but I think this was shot near 36th & L Streets in Omaha.
