Maxxxine is being widely released today. A great recreation of mid-80’s Los Angeles, below are a few locations that appear in the trailer. I do have spots for other locations, I will wait to post those until the movie is released on physical media. Other easily-identifiable spots include the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, Bonaventure Hotel, and the 6300 & 6400 block of Hollywood Boulevard, but I’ll also post the Landing Strip studio, the loading dock, and others.

The production used Warner Bros. Studios for some of the studio exteriors. This is Gate 5 right next to the studio tour building. This used to be the entrance for the trams when the tour began across the street.
The opening scene was shot at Stage 16.
Just as you go through Gate 5, you would see in Hennesey Street. This area has been used in many films including Spider-Man, Gremlins, Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure, Annie, and more.
This was shot by the gate at Warner Boulevard and South Cordova Street.
Now we are over to Universal Studios. I’ll post more of the chase sequence when the film is released on blu-ray, but most fans will recognize those backlot sets are not interconnected at all, nor did they look like that in 1985!

The Bates Motel at Universal Studios…
I was lucky enough to go inside the Bates’ house and it looks exactly as it does in the movie!
This is actually what the Psycho house and Bates Motel looked like in 1985 during my first visit to the studios.
As an avid Fangoria reader in the 80’s, I was glad to see they had an actual 1985 issue that I immediately recognized from my collection!
