Today marks the anniversary for Madonna’s La Isla Bonita, released February 25, 1987. I tracked down these locations eleven years ago and published them on my blog. At the time, the locations had not been found and/or published, so was excited to get to them.
First up is this apartment at 1318 West Maryland Street in Los Angeles. It’s changed a bit since my initial visit, not only having a new paint job, but also losing the more-identifiable front balcony.
Completely gone is the garage across the street, originally at 1313 West Maryland Street.
And across the street from that is Madonna’s apartment at 1312 West Maryland Street.
Though this was created on a soundstage, this is a look at the top apartment.
The video ends with Madonna dancing up the street. The building on the right is at 421 South Bixel Street, but this is the Maryland Street side.
