Back To The Future (1985)

Today marks the 35th anniversary for BACK TO THE FUTURE. A fan favorite that has maintained high popularity over the years, it’s been a favorite for people to visit the locations. Below are a few I have been to over the years…

These locations won’t necessarily be in movie order, but the first one we’ll visit is the Doc Brown’s 1985 garage, which is a facade built next to a Burger King, located at 5353 North Victory Boulevard in Burbank, California.

The school was shot at Whittier High School at 12417 East Philadelphia Street in Whittier, California.

The back of the school was used as well.

Marty’s house is located at 9303 Roslyndale Avenue in Arleta, California.

Many fans have visited this iconic street.

Lorraine’s house is located at 1727 Bushnell Avenue in South Pasadena, California.

George’s house is nearby at 1711 Bushnell Avenue.

Doc lives at the Gamble House, at 4 Westmoreland Place in Pasadena.

I “think” this is the right spot for the starting line, shot at Griffith Park.

Most of the town scenes were shot at Universal Studios. You will see a mix of comparison photos from my visit to the backlot all the way from 1985 (where it looks virtually the same in the movie) up until 2015.

There are typically various props and cars sitting around if you’re lucky to see them while on tour.

What is also at Universal Studios, but you will not be able to see, is the well used in the fading photo, as seen here behind Spielberg.

In 2015, I attended Back to the Future in Concert at the Hollywood Bowl, with front and center seats! It was a great night and was attended by cast and crew. It reminded me how special the movie going experience can be compared to watching at home.

I have been lucky to meet a few of the cast over the years, here is Christopher Lloyd.
